Papillon de la Mort by RokuGurin Papillon de la Mort by RokuGurin
Request from :iconvelonika:

Yuyuko Saigyouji in her Koumajou Densetsu 2 attire.

Okay, anyone who has played this game knows exactly what I am going to gripe about.

Yuyuko's boss fight in that game is IRRITATING! That goddamned red butterfly!

No knockback at all when it touches you! It can drain all your health by contact! Gah!

Anyway, to those who wondered why she used butterflies, here's what Wikipedia says about the insect:

According to Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things, by Lafcadio Hearn, a butterfly was seen in Japan as the personification of a person's soul; whether they be living, dying, or already dead.

So it fits the Princess of the Netherworld.

Gotta love symbolism.

By the way, is anyone else disturbed by the fact that her clothes make her look like a nun?

(The title means "Butterfly of Death" in French. Or at least it should. )

Love the rendering of the character and the clothes, and the background is nice also, but the pink color on the butterflies is totally off for the overall composition. I'd try a little redder pink.

Well, hello there :tighthug:
Oh my, my, what do we have here?
When I read your descriptio "This is my best works so far"
below this beautiful and lovely piece of art, my first thoughts
were something like "Well, hell yeah, and you should totally be proud of this!" :la: :dummy:
It's really, really, really pretty and lovely and when I took a first look at this picture, I was
instantly in love with it because the character is sooooo adorable and your style of art and drawing
femals is really pretty and cute and I just couldn't resist, I kept starring at it for like, 5 minutes untill I was
able to take my eyes off of it and make this comment
I just really wanted to tell you how much I like this picture, her smile is really contagious  :dummy:
And of course, the face expression is priceless, so funny and cute at the same time, you did a great
job combining those two things togather, you surely do know how to make a happy and joyful piece of art :meow:
I really do admire your style of shading, I wish I would be able to shade as good as you do it, it's really really really good :noes:
Shades are almost everywhere and they make her clothes really realisticly colored, it's just awesome and the body propotions
are very well drawn, as well, what program do you use for coloring? It's just so neat and clean and so flawless  :meow:
Unfortunately, I have never play that game but she surely looks interesting and like a kickass character, and yes, her clothes really
do somehow make her look like a nun :noes:
Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know that I really do like this picture
and that you have every right to be as proud as you want to on this picture
because it's really great and lovely and I simply adore it, especially that cute and adorable character

Wow, thanks! :o

Um, these days I use Photoshop CS5 for my work. Actually a friend of mine helped me out with the shading. I would have never thought of using that color if not for him.
